At the recent Jersey Australia Board meeting a new interim rule was introduced regarding Jersey Bulls imported into Australia from the United States of America.
The background to this rule change is that the US system of pedigree assessment has changed. To ensure the purity of the breed the Jersey Australia technical committee has developed an interim policy where the society will:
a) not accept registrations for progeny of imported bulls with four or less generations of Jersey Pedigree and
b) will review, on a case by case basis, the progeny from imported bulls with five or more generations of Jersey Pedigree.
