2025 World Jersey Conference
April 6th – April 21st, 2025
Jersey Australia together with and on behalf of the World Jersey Cattle Bureau invites and welcomes Jersey enthusiasts from around the globe to join us in April 2025 for the World Jersey Conference, celebrating the excellence of Australian Jerseys.
The 2025 tour will kick off in Melbourne on April 6th, where we will greet our guests with a traditional Aboriginal Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony during the Welcome Dinner on the banks of the Yarra River.
Gippsland | April 7th – 10th
The 2025 tour begins in Gippsland, the heart of the Australian dairy industry, where we experience the 63rd annual Central Gippsland Jersey Fair, judged by Wayne Kuhne of Bushlea Jerseys. After the fair, we’ll head to our accommodation at Silverwater Resort in San Remo.
During the Gippsland leg, we will be visiting Master Breeders herds of BROADLIN JERSEYS, KINGS VILLE JERSEYS, WALLACEDALE JERSEYS, LANGDALE JERSEYS, and ARALUEN PARK JERSEYS.
The Gippsland leg will also include visits to the ELLINBANK DAIRY RESEARCH FARM, the first of four BREAKFAST INFORMATIONS SESSIONS on new Calf Vitality Breeding Values and BURRA FOODS milk processing factory in Korumburra. Tour guests will join members at the Burra Brewery for the Gippsland Members dinner and beer brewing demonstrations. They will also have a chance to visit local attractions, including Phillip Island and the Penguin Parade, Yarragon Village, and more.
Western Victoria | April 10th – 13th
We depart Gippsland and head to Western Victoria. We will be based at Lady Bay Resort in Warrnambool. Our key events for the region include a tour of Genetics Australia’s TOTAL LIVESTOCK GENETICS bull collection facility in Camperdown, followed by the SPONSORS EXPO & DINNER and HIGH-PERFORMANCE COW display.
Herd visits in the region will include the Master Breeder herds of MURRAY BROOK JERSEYS, Australian number 1 genetics merit WHITE STAR JERSEYS, WARRION JERSEYS, and DORNOCH JERSEYS. The BREAKFAST INFORMATION SESSION in the region will be on Jerseys in the South African dairy Industry.
Members in the region will join guests for a WEST VIC MEMBERS dinner at the Lady Bay Resort. As for local attractions, we can go past the world-renowned Great Ocean Road, which is our headline attraction.
Melbourne | April 13th – 14th
We return to Melbourne on April 13th, where guests can enjoy a relaxing afternoon taking in the city at their own will. For those interested can join the Australian native animal safari at the Melbourne Zoo in the afternoon before joining members back at the zoo in the evening for the 2025 Jersey Australia annual award night. Guests will dine on our bespoke “Taste of Australia” menu and sample unique Australian culinary delights.
The Future Leaders Forum will also run in Melbourne on April 12th, will offer a fantastic opportunity to bring together the next generation of Jersey leaders. This forum will focus on developing a blueprint for the global future of the Jersey breed and the World Jersey community.
The awards night will include our Annual Jersey Elite Awards, which recognise Master Breeders, Elite Cows, and Bulls and announce the Great Australian Challenge winners.
We visit the World Leading Research Facility AgriBio, where you will receive a presentation on the exciting research being undertaken. Then, local industry leaders will join you for a luncheon, and we will head to Echuca for the evening.
Northern Victoria | April 14th – 17th
We start the Northen Victoria with 2025 DAIRYS FINEST SALE, featuring an auction of 30-40 of Australia’s best pedigrees. Exportable embryos will be available, and live lots will be sold with vendors offering hosting opportunities to those who find an animal that excites them.
We stay at Moama on the Murray, where guests will enjoy the tranquil sounds of the Murray River and wake up to the kangaroos hopping through the park. Our regional Breakfast Information Session will highlight a research project by Daviesways on regenerative farming, focusing on the advantages Jersey cows offer in this approach as we move toward net-zero emissions.
Guests will join locals for the Northern Vic Members Dinner at Rich River Golf Club and visit the Master Breeder Herds of KAARMONA JERSEYS, BROOKBORA JERSEYS AND JUGIONG JERSEYS as well as DARRYN VALE JERSEYS.
We visit Australia’s largest Jersey herd WYOMING JERSEYS which milk 3000 cows with an expansion plan to 6000 and take in local attractions along the Murray River and the local silo art trail. We finish the Victorian leg of the tour at world-renowned BROWN BROTHERS WINERY for a tasting and tour before heading towards the Snowy Mountains.
Southern NSW | April 17th – 21st
We begin the Southern NSW leg with an overnight stay in Jindabyne and, along the way, take in Australia’s highest peak, Mount Kosciusko, standing at 2228mt (7210ft) above sea level, before heading down towards Bega and up the NSW South Coast to Gerringong.
We visit the herds of BRUNCHILLI & RIVENDELL JERSEYS, WILGO JERSEYS AND JAMBER & BURNSIDE JERSEYS throughout the region. Young scientist Mikayla Crouch is the first recipient of the Australian Dairy Youth (ADY) Travel Scholarship to study at the University of Dublin as part of her Ag Science Genetics major and will be the BREAKFAST INFORMATION SESSION presenter in the NSW region.
As a group, we celebrate Easter, and for those wishing to attend Easter church services, we will ensure you are able to do so before heading into Sydney. We will sail Sydney harbour on a dinner cruise before finishing the world tour with the Royal Easter Show Jersey judging under Andrew Vander Meulen of Avonlea Jerseys in Canada and a final end-of-tour dinner.
