GREAT AUSTRALIAN
CHALLENGE
The Jersey Australia’s / Semex Great Australian Challenge is Australia’s premier On Farm Challenge competition providing a great opportunity for members to show and judge Dairy’s Finest cows in their working environment. The competition judges cows in the following in milk classes:
- 2 Year Old
- 3 Year Old
- 4 Year Old
- 5 Year Old
- Mature Cow
The competition runs across Australia starting with club competitions. Club on farm challenges are typically held in October each year. Winners of the Club On-Farm Challenges then proceed to be judge in either the Great Southern Challenge or the Great Northern Challenge.
The Great Southern Challenge covers clubs from Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia and the Great Northern Challenge includes clubs from New South Wales and Queensland. Winners are presented in December.
The winner entries from the Great Southern Challenge and Great Northern Challenge are then judge by a panel of 3 Judges via video to determine the Great Australian Challenge winners which are announced and presented at the AGM dinner in May.
